Do I need an API key?
Updated September 3, 2026
No. For the free AI Security Foundations lab, the agent and model are already set up inside the isolated Kasm workspace, so you do not need your own API key or a paid coding-assistant subscription. Those IDE subscriptions (for example Cline, Kilo Code, Crush, and Factory) are a different product and usually cost $18/$80/$168 per month. Zhipu's general-purpose Open Platform API is pay-as-you-go for tokens, and PentAGI can talk to it as an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, but that is separate from the free Foundations course.
